Merry Crimbo!

December 26th, 2006 - Life

Happy Holidays to one and all! It's always a good time of year, since you are actually allowed to take time off from doing whatever it is that needs to get done in order to spend time with family and friends, rather than having to fit that time round all the other malarkey that normally takes up most of the day. And there is also the present as well. Now I'm very proud this year because me and my sister both ...

The old ruggers

December 10th, 2006 - Rugby

It's been a funny old season this year. Even though it feels like we've haven't done as well as last year, we have. We got three victories, over The Leys, Qeen ELizabeth Boys and the mighty Felsted. Same number of victories as the 1st XV. But, as Mr.Luke, our couch, put it last night, on top of that we 'lost five, and got stuffed in six of them'. I think it's probably the coach as well. From the moment when I saw the final scene of the ending sequence, I knew that this game would be a classic. Even before the idea of starting a website dedicated to the game, even before threads starting popping up on forums about which game was the best ever, I knew that Final Fantasy 7 would go down in ...

Akira, is, frankly, an artistic masterpiece in both its available mediums, because of the care that went into the aesthetics. With the movie, though it is fairly dated, having been released in the 1980s, the animation is fluid, and is often amazing because of the sheer dedication you know that went into this project. Speaking of dedication, the 2000-page manga is nothing less than extraordinary. Those manga artists out there know the patience that it is required during the process ...

Neverwinter Nights is one of the all-time best role-playing games on the PC, not only because of the sheer open-endedness of the character development (mainly thanks to it's core being the D&D system) and awesome visuals and sounds, but also because of the well thought-out plot which is both engrossing and intellectually rewarding, which is what you would expect from the team with brought us legendary games such as Starcraft, Warcraft and the infamous Diablo II. One of the features ...

Review: Shadow of the Colossus

November 15th, 2006 - Gaming

"There are no 'enemies' as such in Shadow of the Colossus. Just sixteen bosses. And when I say bosses, I'm implying objects that probably would not look too out of place as a high-rise block of apartments designed by a slightly nutty architect."
