PHP Class: DataDump
December 31st, 2007 - Code
Been working on this on and off for the past few weeks (mainly off if I'm honest). Not sure how useful this will be, but here goes! Basically, this is sort of a utility class designed to let you see the results of a search query in a number of formats: an array, un-ordered lists or a table. This can either be printed or returned as a variable for later use. The idea behind this was to let the developer ...
Dans Paris
December 22nd, 2007 - Life
Got back from my two-day trip to Paris with my girlfriend yesterday, had a lovely time, and read a very good book called 'The Forever War', the first book if the Science Fiction Masterworks collection I'm trying to get through. One interesting thing I thought I'd share was seeing the Eiffel Tower. It is really, really big, and I found it quite funny when I realised, while looking at it from the bottom, that my brain couldn't quite muster the ...
Top of the class
December 13th, 2007 - Code
It's quiet on the interwebs, isn't it. Admittably, I have been busy at work, grinding my druid, and playing the old rugger, but I should a PHP class I'm working on in 'beta' soon, i.e. finished until someone points out a bug/'improvement' to me. Stay tuned...
Links with your tea?
December 4th, 2007 - The Web
Slow week for my brain at the moment, so enjoy some links in the meantime: 24Ways: The advent calendar for web developers, every day up until the 24th a tutorial is posted, and some of them are even useful. I make joke! FreeRice: Nice little charity thingy-ma-bob. You have to guess the meaning of words, and for every word you get right, 20 grains of rice are donated. And it's not a simple as you think, as the word list ...
WOW: What I Wish I’d Known
November 27th, 2007 - Gaming
I mentioned last week that I've started playing World of Warcraft again, and it's been an enlightening process to start from scratch (I deleted my old character) on a new server. Now I know most people out there won't care much for my ramblings on some silly MMORPG, but I'd like to share some of what I've learnt from this second round.
‘Get Firefox’ Banner v1.0 Released!
November 21st, 2007 - Wordpress
New features in this release of the plugin include customizable colours (using a snazzy colour picker no less) and the banner staying close for the whole browser session once it's clicked. Now I realise this is starting to look like overkill, but it's nice practice for me at least. Got to think of my next plugin now!
There’s life!
November 19th, 2007 - Gaming
Still working on the upgrades for the plugin, just got to get a colour picker now. Started playing WOW again last week, just in time for a patch which garaunteed lots of nice new content, and it delivered. I'll be making a proper post about it at some point this week. Should be fun to write a nice article, haven't done one in a while (that didn't have something to do with my plugin at least).
