WOW: What I Wish I’d Known

November 27th, 2007 - Gaming

I mentioned last week that I've started playing World of Warcraft again, and it's been an enlightening process to start from scratch (I deleted my old character) on a new server. Now I know most people out there won't care much for my ramblings on some silly MMORPG, but I'd like to share some of what I've learnt from this second round.

New features in this release of the plugin include customizable colours (using a snazzy colour picker no less) and the banner staying close for the whole browser session once it's clicked. Now I realise this is starting to look like overkill, but it's nice practice for me at least. Got to think of my next plugin now!

There’s life!

Still working on the upgrades for the plugin, just got to get a colour picker now. Started playing WOW again last week, just in time for a patch which garaunteed lots of nice new content, and it delivered. I'll be making a proper post about it at some point this week. Should be fun to write a nice article, haven't done one in a while (that didn't have something to do with my plugin at least).

Realised I left a few things out of v0.9, so I'm making plans for the next release, mainly with fixes of bugs. Also, I'm planning of improving the functionality (again). Read on to see the full list.

Link Barrage!

Smashing Magazine: Spending more and more of my procrastination time here now, lots of cool stuff to search through, for both tools and inspiration. The Superest: Heroes of the world do battle, but not in the way you think! Plugin Generator: For all Wordpress people out there, have a ...

Just finished up touches for the next release of my 'Get Firefox' Banner plugin, be sure to download it. No idea what I'm on about? Read the original post.

My little plugin has been quite a success. It's certainly driven a fair amount of traffic here. And a fair number of comments, asking about more functionality and features, so I'm going to list the upgrades I've got in mind for the first stable release (i.e. 1.0). And I'm doing it on here because I can.

Launchball

November 5th, 2007 - Gaming

Preloaded have done it again. As usual, they made an absolute smashing game/movie/minisite/website/transport/vegetable ... the list goes on. This time, it's the dangerously addictive Launchball for the Science Museum in London.  Enjoy, and say goodbye to a good hour or two.
