WOW: What I Wish I’d Known
November 27th, 2007 - Gaming
I mentioned last week that I've started playing World of Warcraft again, and it's been an enlightening process to start from scratch (I deleted my old character) on a new server. Now I know most people out there won't care much for my ramblings on some silly MMORPG, but I'd like to share some of what I've learnt from this second round.
There’s life!

Still working on the upgrades for the plugin, just got to get a colour picker now. Started playing WOW again last week, just in time for a patch which garaunteed lots of nice new content, and it delivered. I'll be making a proper post about it at some point this week. Should be fun to write a nice article, haven't done one in a while (that didn't have something to do with my plugin at least).
Launchball
November 5th, 2007 - Gaming
Preloaded have done it again. As usual, they made an absolute smashing game/movie/minisite/website/transport/vegetable ... the list goes on. This time, it's the dangerously addictive Launchball for the Science Museum in London. Enjoy, and say goodbye to a good hour or two.

I was looking through my posts the other day in the WP admin, and turns out this post will be my 70th *cheers*. I started blogging because I love to write (the quality is questionable, I know), and I needed to fill the void that appeared once I had finished GCSE English. I was writing 'News' posts on the old RedRoot since about this time last year, but Wordpress came in around November, and besides all those copied from my ...
Words, Games and Oval Balls

No real updates this week, hence the lack of posts. Many, many things are weighing down on me and I haven't really had any motivation to write anything substantial, but I've come up with a few things to rabble on about. First of these is my accelarating reading speed when it comes to novels. Now normally, if I have a good book in my hands and plenty of time to witter away, I can rattle off about 300 pages in 5-6 ...
When Chocobos Roamed the Earth

To me, the Final Fantasy series represents all that a good game should be. Interaction is generally seen as the key to the success of video games, which is the primary reason they differ in scope and audience from books, movies and television. Interaction in storytelling is something with truly appeals to me. I'm not talking about a completely open ended story like 'Oblivion', but something I can lose myself in, while fiddling with all sorts of micro-management tools ...
Review: Neverwinter Nights – Twilight
November 16th, 2006 - Gaming
Neverwinter Nights is one of the all-time best role-playing games on the PC, not only because of the sheer open-endedness of the character development (mainly thanks to it's core being the D&D system) and awesome visuals and sounds, but also because of the well thought-out plot which is both engrossing and intellectually rewarding, which is what you would expect from the team with brought us legendary games such as Starcraft, Warcraft and the infamous Diablo II. One of the features ...
Review: Shadow of the Colossus
November 15th, 2006 - Gaming
"There are no 'enemies' as such in Shadow of the Colossus. Just sixteen bosses. And when I say bosses, I'm implying objects that probably would not look too out of place as a high-rise block of apartments designed by a slightly nutty architect."
