No real updates this week, hence the lack of posts. Many, many things are weighing down on me and I haven’t really had any motivation to write anything substantial, but I’ve come up with a few things to rabble on about.

First of these is my accelarating reading speed when it comes to novels. Now normally, if I have a good book in my hands and plenty of time to witter away, I can rattle off about 300 pages in 5-6 hours. Every now and again, when I get stuck into an special type of book with engages, nay envelopes my interest, this jumps to a massive spead. I don’t actually know why, because in theory this would mean that I must be missing something out, but that doesn’t seem to be the case: when Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince came out, I finished within the day, and I can still remember a fair chunk of it, even now! I rented a book from the school library two nights ago called Life As We Know It, some post-apocalyptic fable about the moon being ravaged for young adults, written as the diary of a 16 year old girl in the States: nice light reading which fills up my drought of good novels I’ve had lately. 330 pages in 4 hours. Awesome book, but even so, I’m amazed at that. To be honest I didn’t even notice it go by, I just wanted to keep reading. I wish that commitment could be transferred into my other areas of study.

Speaking of study, with my mocks starting on Monday, if anyone knows a good technique to cram buckets of boring ICT information, please let me know.

Continuing on from that amazing game-to-be that is Spore, I found another quite interesting ‘game’ that will be/is (no clue at time of writing) incorporated into the PS3 online capabilities. It’s called ‘LittleBigPlanet’, and I suggest looking it up on YouTube or GameTrailers.com for some impressive gameplay videos. In a sense it’s a level creator for a platformer, but the way it has been made makes it seem like a mountain of fun. Any one can make almost anything within this world, or in fact a team of people can make a world. These get stored, and then other PS3 users can access the levels, play them, leave comments and rate each level: all while being quite cute and cotton-based¹.

One of the last things I’m gonna say this week is that Final Fantasy XII is turning out to be quite a different, but enjoyable, experience from the last 10 in the series: As soon as I finish it I’ll definitely have a review up. The other is how awesome this first day of the penultimate weekend of the Six Nations has been. Ireland narrowly beat Scotland 19 - 18 is what was unexpectedly a complete war of attrition, while ‘ITALIA!’ came from behind in the 77th minute to pinch and absolute schorcher between them and Wales 23 - 20. If that is anything to go by, I’m that tomorrows match will also throw up an unexpected result …
