My good friend Peter from Active Webdezign recently told me a funny story. Me and him both have accounts over at a certain useful icons site, and we both got befriended by the same person. This person messaged Peter saying “You know Luke?”. “Luke who?” he replied. “Luke W?”, “Yeah we know Luke, he works here from time to time”,”Yeah, he worked on the interface for my site Renkoo!”. *screeching halt* Now as happy as I would be to be involved in a project like that, unless I’m sleep-designing and travelling to California without realising it, that’s definitely not me. Turns out theres an interface designer company called ‘LukeW Interface Designs’, except instead of Luke Williams (my name) it’s Luke Wroblewski. I did actually make a post where I looked up my name on Google, but this is the first time it’s come to me by other means, and considering the sheer grandeur of the behemoth that is the w-w-w, hardly surprising is it? Anyway, small world; if anybody reading this has similar stories, do tell! ¹

EDIT: Right, I just had a look at the post mentioned above, and I clicked on the link to the web designer I found. Okay, no biggie, but the link has stopped working. It’s on the site for a event called ‘WebVisions’, and I found the ‘Luke Williams’ there originally because he was a speaker, so I checked the current speakers, and guess who showed up: Luke Wroblewski. HMMM?

Last thing: web applications are abundant at the moment and to be honest often a little lacklustre in terms of what they are supposed to help with, so the two good ones I found recently are going to get an airing. Teamsnap, a sports team management system², and Floor-Planner, and interior-design planning system. And yes, I did put my rugby team on Teamsnap. Yummy.
