Wow. The Wii

The Wii

My mum is fantastic. She was so happy after getting 1st Class Honours for her course (Well done!) that she felt like giving me by Christmas present early… only a bloody Nintendo Wii!!. I felt like I was 8 years old again and getting an N64 for my birthday. And what games came with it I hear you cry? Wii Sports and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess!.

So far, all is good. Wii Sports is a barrel of laughs, and some of the capabilities that the motion sensor system has is truly amazing. For instance, in the Bowling game, if I flick my wrist to the right as I let go of the ball, the ball with have right spin on it. And in Tennis, you can easily slice a ball or put top spin on it simply by altering your movements slightly. Now, of course you could just play by flicking your wrist a bit, but the whole fun is to stand up and swing yourself around. Can’t wait for the ‘Wii Play’ game, and/or any other crazy mini game collection that will come out, since I know it’s going to be great.

Just so you know, the new Zelda game is a masterpiece. Every time I stop playing it, I can’t wait to play it again. I haven’t had that feeling for a long time. Everything is incredible: the world, the people, the innovative controls, the weapons (bomb arrows anyone?), and especially the story which is increasingly absorbing, and you know it is just going to get better. I mean, I’m 10 hours in, and only about less than a 1/3 through the main core of the game, and it’s already that impressive. There will definitely be more to come as I complete more of the game. So watch this space.

So yeah, I’ve got a Wii, and it is an awful lot of fun. I’m expecting to get a few extra visitors to my house in the next few weeks, wonder what they could want …

Weekly Anime Reviews

I won’t be doing much in the ways of Weekly Anime Reviews anymore. To be honest, it’s simply too time-consuming. I’m still watching the series, so maybe I’ll put up a catch-up review from time to time.

If you really want to know, Bleach is still crap, and Death Note is still amazing!

Ouch

Just LOST all my bookmarks in Firefox. All 500 of them …
