I’ve normally always tried to steer clearing of social networking sites, particularly MySpace, which I have generally perhaps wrongly as more than a bit egocentric in it’s approach.

Yet it dawned on me today in a big way that this is my last year at my school, and after that I most likely won’t keep in touch with most of them mainly because I’m the type of person to text and call out of the blue, even though I like to think I’m a friendly person … in person. With only 11 school weeks left, sadly a lot of my friendships would go to waste. One solution that I thought through was to use one of those accursed sites, but I wanted one to suit me, and really to emphasize the social aspect as opposed to the more personal aspect…

And thats Facebook. I just joined (shameless plug), so hopefully this will keep me sane and talking to me friends even when I’m not seeing them everyday as I’m used to. And also, it’s quite web 2.0, which is always a bonus.

I’ll have a proper post soon enough concerning my Univeristy choices. Spooky.
